I am Tracy Nagy, the Speech-Language Specialist at Northern Burlington Regional School District. I provide speech-language therapy services to students in grades 7-12 and in the following settings: pull-out therapy sessions, in-classroom therapy sessions and consultative therapy services. I provide additional support to students struggling with articulation, fluency, language development, auditory processing and pragmatic (social) skills.
I attended Kean University and graduated cum laude with a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology and minored in Psychology. I began my career with Point Pleasant School District. In May 2004, I married my amazing husband, Sam. After having our first son, I decided to leave the school setting and work part-time at a private practice with both pediatric and school-aged population. Within the next few years, our family grew and our second son was born. A few months later, I returned to the school-setting as a consultant for Perth Amboy School District. After the birth of our last child, our daughter, I decided I wanted to permanently work in the school setting as a district employee and was hired and welcomed at Northern Burlington Regional School District. I have been working at NBC since October 2015 and have enjoyed getting to know the students, staff, and parents of the community.
Students who receive speech-language services can expect to work on speech sound productions, fluency of speech, vocabulary, comprehension, auditory processing and memory skills, syntax and grammar skills and/or social-language skills. At NBC, I work with students both in the classroom and in the speech therapy room. I work in collaboration with classroom teachers to help reinforce skills taught in the classroom and provide extra support and re-teaching of skills my students are struggling to understand.
When I am not at work, I enjoy the outdoors with my family, reading various novels, gardening and yard work, scrapbooking or relaxing by the ocean. My most enjoyable moments are spent with my husband and three children, whether on family vacations, watching sports games, or just being at our home.
