I graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in Science. After some research experience, I pursued the alternate route to certification and have been teaching 8th grade Science at Northern since 2004. My students should expect lots of hands-on activities; we rarely sit for an entire class period! Our lessons are aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards and we often put a creative spin on assessment activities. We use a lot of post-it notes and glue sticks!
At school, I’m a Team Leader, a member of the School Climate, and Excellence by Design committees, and the coach of the Middle School Odyssey of the Mind team. At home, my husband and I have two children. My daughter is a graduate of Ursinus College in Pennsylvania; my son plays football. I’m a (slow!) runner and enjoy reading and gardening. I’m always looking to learn something new.
Email (KHenry@nburlington.com) is best to contact me. I offer extra help before and after school most days — I just need a heads up ahead of time to be sure I’m not in a meeting!
