Middle School Math Teacher
I was born in the North-East of England in the steel working town of Middlesbrough. My passion for teaching started at an early age, being inspired by my Mom who was an elementary school teacher. Growing up I loved to play sports especially soccer (football). After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) with a Bachelor in Sport Science, I continued my education gaining my teaching certificate. My passion and experience of soccer gave me the opportunity to work in the States coaching soccer for a company in Essex County, NJ. During this time I was fortunate to also teach Math at a local high school. In September 2000, I started teaching full time in Verona, NJ and coached both the boys and girls soccer teams during my 10 years there. I also earned my Masters in Math Education at Montclair State University.
In 2010 I moved to South Jersey and started teaching at Northern Burlington Regional School District. The diversity of students at Northern is what makes Northern such a great place. The students inspire me each day and they work extremely hard to succeed. Seeing my students develop their math skills over the course of a school year is very rewarding especially watching their confidence grow. The school year of 2013-2014 I was awarded “Educator of the year”; this was a memorable year for me as I also got my American Citizenship.
Outside of school, I play lots of golf and can be found on the golf course each weekend. I love to garden and take my dog for many walks around the neighborhood. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
