I studied at James Madison University and graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters of Education degree in Special Education K-12 in 2008. I have taught a wide range of classes at Northern Burlington high school including self contained, resource, and in class support settings. I believe the most important requirements in my classroom are respect and understanding differences. Staff and students all have a high level of respect for each other in order to have a successful learning environment. Our wide range of backgrounds and abilities require a high level of understanding of our differences.
I coach middle school cross country in the fall, Special Olympics bowling during the winter, as well as Special Olympics Track in the spring. Special Olympics athletes are from the middle and high school. Additionally, I run Social Club after school throughout the year which allows our students with multiple disabilities to interact with regular education students once a month after school.
