Hi! My name is Jen Cavalier.
I was born and raised in Florence, NJ where I attended Holy Assumption and Florence High School. I was actively involved in many clubs and sports, math team and softball being my favorites. From a young age, I always had the desire to become a teacher and pursued this career as a Governorś Teaching Scholar at Trenton State College, now The College of New Jersey. I graduated from Trenton State in 1994 with a BA in Mathematics Secondary Education, and then continued to grow my family, having my second child, before I started my teaching career in Burlington, NJ at a small private school. There I taught math, science, health and physical education for grades 6-8 for one year.
I was hired at Northern Burlington in 1996 as a HS math teacher, and have taught mathematics in both the high school and middle school ever since. I have always had a love for learning, and consider teaching my true passion. I especially enjoy teaching math to my 7th graders everyday and am always trying to incorporate innovative and fun activities. A quote on my desk would give you a great picture of my teaching style and classroom. It states “Teachers who love teaching, teach children to love learning.¨ In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I have been a class adviser for the Class of 2001 in the high school, and have been the Student Council adviser in the Middle school. I am currently the Wizards Team Leader and Treasurer for the NBCRTA.
My husband and I have three children which have, and continue to keep us busy and always on the run. I enjoy being a band, softball and soccer mom! Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for checking in and getting to know a little more about me.
